CBA (Comic Book ACE) is a rare comic archive format that stores comic images in an ACE compressed archive. ACE was a short-lived compression format popular in the late 1990s and early 2000s, and CBA files from that era are still occasionally encountered in older comic collections. Because ACE decompression support has been dropped from most modern software, CBA files often need to be converted to more accessible formats like EPUB or CBZ for continued use.

Comic archives convert to HTLMZ as image sequences. Ensure the archive contains images in correct alphabetical/numerical order, as Calibre relies on filename ordering. High-resolution images produce larger output files; consider resizing images beforehand. After downloading the HTMLZ file, rename it to .zip and unzip to access the HTML and CSS files directly. Edit them in any text editor, re-zip the folder, and rename back to .htmlz before importing into Calibre for further conversion.
